Common questions
I don't know my birth time. Can I still use Skylight?
Yes. Your planets are still placed accurately, and most of the app works normally. What you lose is your rising sign and your houses, because both depend on the Earth's rotation at the exact moment you were born. Skylight says so plainly wherever it matters rather than quietly guessing — it will never invent a rising sign for you.
How accurate are the calculations?
Positions are computed with a modern astronomical engine, accurate to about one arcminute — far finer than any astrological reading needs. Your birthplace supplies its own historical time zone, so births during unusual periods, like the Netherlands' wartime and pre-1937 offsets, are handled correctly rather than assumed.
Is my data private?
Your birth details are stored on your phone, not on our servers, and there are no analytics or tracking SDKs in the app. Your chart and your questions are sent to our AI provider when a reading is generated — that part is not on-device, and the privacy policy spells out exactly what is sent and when.
What do I get for free, and what needs a subscription?
Your full birth chart, your monthly forecast, saving people and the compatibility flow are all free. The free tier includes five AI answers and the next three months of your timeline. Skylight Premium removes the limit on answers and opens the full twelve months.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and select Skylight. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for. Because Apple handles the payment, cancellation and refunds go through Apple rather than through us.
I paid but the app still shows the free tier.
Open the subscription screen and tap "Restore purchases" — that re-checks your Apple ID for an existing subscription, which is usually all it takes. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you bought it with. If it still doesn't appear, email us and we'll look into it.
Can I use Skylight offline?
Partly. Your chart, your forecast and the dates in your timeline are all computed on your phone and work with no connection at all. Written readings need the network, because they're generated when you ask for them. If you subscribe, your subscription keeps working offline — a dropped connection never locks you out of what you've paid for.
How do I delete my data?
Everything is on your device, so deleting the app removes all of it immediately. To clear just your birth details without uninstalling, open Profile and use "Start over". Note that we can't recover any of it afterwards, because we never had a copy.
Is this real astrology, or is it made up?
The astronomy is real — the planetary positions are the same ones an observatory would give you. The interpretation is astrology, which is a tradition of meaning rather than a science. Skylight is built for entertainment and self-reflection, and it's designed to read as a lens on your situation rather than a verdict on it.
Is Skylight on Android?
Not yet. The first version is iPhone-only.
